Silversmithing 6:00pm til 8:30pm Maximum 3 people per class
$75 per class (Some materials will be supplied, however, should the design you wish to use require large amounts of silver or if you would like to use gold or precious gems this will need to be discussed at least 2 weeks prior to your first class and the cost of extra materials added to your class fees.)
These classes are not themed. This means you are free to create anything you like (within reason!). If you are interested in learning Silversmithing skills to continue making jewellery at home I will work with you to create a design that involves a large range of skills. Enamelling New 6:00pm til 8:30pm Maximum 3 people per class
$75 per class (Materials supplied. Fine Silver Cloisonné wire & pre cut Copper sheet supplied. Extra cost for Fine Silver sheet. Should you require specific colours for your design please contact me at least 1 week prior to the commencement of your first class to confirm availability.)
It will most likely be necessary to attend 3 to 4 classes to complete a piece, however, due to the fact that there is much waiting during the heating and cooling of the enamelling process it is possible to make 2 pieces in the same 3 or 4 classes.
During the first class we will cover the basic principles of cloisonné, design and commence work on a piece. In the second class work will continue on this piece and another may be started. In the third class work on these pieces will continue and finishing techniques will begin. In the fourth class a small amount of Silversmithing will be applied to create settings for your enamel pieces making them ready to wear.
NB: This timeline is approximate. Intricate designs may require more than 4 classes to complete.
